This artistic and musically creative poster-song project by Troy Petit, Sr.,  is his way of attributing his feelings, thoughts, and qualities of life to young people in part and other genres as well.  The clever messages about hugs and love on this colorful, kid-friendly poster express heartfelt feelings of love and the value of giving and sharing it.  Conspicuously attached to the poster is a musical CD containing a delightful song "Hugs Of Love," written and composed by Troy Petit.  The unforgettable melody and catchy lyrics to the song encourages and in most instances seem to compel children and adults alike to show increased uninhibited affection by giving and receiving hugs!  The poster can be easily personalized and will be a wonderful gift for children of all ages.

When asked about the motivating factors for this project, Troy responded, " I wanted to develop something from my forty-seven years of teaching, counseling, and parenting that was original, simple, positive and creative and would continue to touch the lives of children of all ages long after my retirement.  So, I looked back over my career in an effort to determine the main factor that was always consistent or special with the children.  Surprisingly, the factor was clearly evident.  It was the light!  The light or little twinkle in the eyes of children that I could always see when I gave or received a hug!  I now refer to this light as the "light of love". This became my motivation for this project and also made it clear to me why I'm finding it so hard to retire!  In addition to the countless number of children that have touched my life in the field of education, I have a delightful ten-year old son Terryk, and nine grandchildren whose love and many, many hugs helped make this project truly a project of love"!

It should be noted that this project is intended to involve children and adults in their communities and a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of each "poster with a song" has been set aside to benefit designated agencies that assist children who have been abused and neglected.
